In 1989, Layne and Sheldon Synstad decided to act on their passion for building and open a small contracting firm. This firm was built on the foundation of family, transparency, a desire to do the right thing and delivering superior quality for our clients. From building decks, restrooms and small additions, the company has grown to include custom homes and condo projects, but we have not forgotten why we started this business in the first place; to help our clients dreams become a reality.

Letter From the President
In 1989 my brother and I started L&S Builders with the hopes of becoming a premier remodeling company in Northern Virginia and the Washington D.C. area. Attention to detail, quality work, and sincere service has helped set us apart from the competition.
While the company has grown significantly over the past three decades, I still remain an integral part of every project that L&S Builders delivers. This level of care, combined with our experience in the residential market within the DC Metro area, continues to help our business flourish.
Our team understands that no project is the same, but we look forward to each new challenge and opportunity. I have found the best part of any project is the look on our client’s face when they see their dream become a reality.
